HIMSS 24 Conference: Revolutionizing Healthcare Through Technology
At the forefront of healthcare innovation, where technology revolutionizes patient care and operational efficiency, Qsource recently had the privilege of participating in the prestigious HIMSS 24 (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) Conference. Alongside industry leaders and visionaries, our CEO, VP of Growth, and Marketing Manager immersed themselves in the cutting-edge world of healthcare technology during the event held in Orlando, FL, from March 11 to 15, 2024. They explored several groundbreaking technologies, including virtual reality systems and the human element of AI, each poised to reshape the healthcare landscape.
The conference provided our team with invaluable insights for enhancing our internal systems and teams. We are already implementing some ideas from the conference, such as innovative booth designs, streamlined communication workflows, and digital marketing strategies.
One of the conference's main focuses was using technology to personalize the patient experience. Keynotes highlighted the importance of leveraging AI to drive real transformational change in healthcare delivery. We are particularly excited about the opportunity to address staffing challenges and enhance patient engagement through the power of technology.
The conference also explored innovative solutions to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Sessions such as "Transforming Post-Acute Care" provided insights into strategies for optimal long-term health, including developing integrated care management systems and the concept of "Payvider" models within long-term care facilities.

PADONA Conference: Enhancing Long-Term Care Quality
Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to engage with industry leaders at the PADONA (Pennsylvania Association of Directors of Nursing Administration) Conference, which was held at the historic Hershey Hotel. Our dedicated quality improvement specialist facilitated ample networking opportunities by connecting with other attendees to exchange insights on best practices in long-term care management and administration. As we reflect on our engagement at the PADONA Conference, we are inspired by the dedication and passion of nursing administrators in their pursuit of excellence. We are committed to championing quality enhancement in long-term care by forging partnerships and sharing resources to elevate the standard of care for older adults nationwide. We are excited to continue attending these types of events.
Keynote speeches at the conference delved into critical topics such as supporting dignity and risk-taking in older adulthood for nursing home residents, a deep dive into the most frequently cited clinical areas, and CMS updates on surveys and certification. These sessions underscored the importance of staff education and training in maintaining high-quality care standards within long-term care facilities.
Our Qsource experts recognize the vital role that nursing administration plays in ensuring excellence in patient care. That's why we are committed to providing comprehensive support to long-term care facilities across the region and beyond. From regulatory compliance to quality improvement initiatives, we are here to empower nursing administrators and their teams to deliver exceptional care to every resident.
CMS Quality Conference: Advancing Quality Measurement and Reporting
Qsource had the opportunity to attend the CMS Quality Conference on April 8-10, 2024, which was held at the Hilton Baltimore Inn Harbor. The conference provided a platform for discussing quality improvement in healthcare, where we focused on updates to compliance strategies and innovations in long-term care. Our organization is committed to implementing evidence-based practices to improve care delivery and outcomes. Our attendance at the CMS Quality Conference helped us to collaborate better among key decision-makers, resulting in better workflows and a deeper understanding of our alignment of goals and opportunities for improvement.
Key takeaways from the conference included discussions on quality measurement and the pursuit of becoming a High-Reliability Organization (HRO). We were inspired by the concept of striving for failure-free operations amid complexity and the innovative reporting and improvement strategies shared by keynote speakers. One significant item we learned from our participation was the standardization of emergency preparedness protocols for nursing homes. Through vetted methods and collaboration with nursing home leaders and trade associations, we developed an understanding of an assessment tool to enhance emergency preparedness standards across the board.

Our team operates almost entirely remotely, so attending conferences like the CMS Quality Conference provides us an invaluable opportunity for face-to-face interaction. It helps us build stronger relationships, share insights, and collaborate more effectively, ultimately improving the services we provide to our clients and partners. The conference allowed us to collaborate with others who work with CMS and other stakeholders to drive healthcare quality initiatives forward. We explored various topics, including asset management, focusing on maximizing the value of resources throughout their lifecycle in a cost-effective manner.
ESRD Network staff participated in a session on using a structurally competent approach to overcome biases and inequities in kidney care. Applying this approach can help reduce health disparities and advance health equity. They also attended a meeting to improve donor authorization and kidney utilization. ESRD showcased their work ensuring quality care for dialysis patients and uninterrupted access to treatment.
We are proud to have our C-suite leadership team, ESRD experts, and QIO specialists actively engaged in these events. Their contributions enrich our collective knowledge and drive our mission forward. Stay tuned as we continue to leverage these insights to deliver exceptional quality improvement services and drive positive change in healthcare.
