Qsource ESRD Networks Peers in Action Memo: March 2024
March is Kidney Awareness Month. How will you promote awareness? Here are some suggestions:
Social media can be a great platform to reach a wide audience. Create a kidney specific account to share your story and provide support.
Sign up for a kidney walk in your area and recruit a team of people to walk with you.
Help start awareness by putting up flyers at your local college, or any community bulletin board (with permission) about the importance of regularly checking your blood pressure.
Healthy = Happy!
Keep your kidneys happy by eating kidney-friendly and balanced meals, being active 30 minutes a day, watching your fluid intake, and limiting alcohol. Check out this resource to learn how and why to control your fluids:

This is new! Your ESRD Network wants to recognize at least one facility staff member each month who is going above and beyond for their patients. This month we want to celebrate:
Sarah Siegel! Sarah is the Social Worker for DaVita Taylorville and Springfield South at Home in Illinois. Sarah was nominated by a coworker who stated that "...she helps patients navigate complicated aspects of dialysis, she advocates for her patients by assisting them to find medical professionals, she sets up medical appointments for patients and even finds resources in the community for them!" Way to go Sarah!!
Do you have a facility staff member you’d like to nominate for the facility shoutout? Email us the details of who, what, and where at: Qsource-Peers@qsource.org
