It’s a new year! That means another year on our journey to healthy bodies and minds. Let’s make it our New Year’s resolution to ensure each kidney patient is as successful as possible with their treatment. Use this resource to find questions for your care team about your kidney-friendly diet, fistula care, and more. If there is something listed that you need assistance with, make a note of it and follow up with your care team!
As the weather remains cold, we need to keep in mind that our bodies still need to be active. Movement can be big or small, and we don’t even have to break a sweat to make our choice of exercise count! Regular movement helps maintain our circulation, assists with proper digestion and sleep! Chair yoga is a great way to stay active and is simple enough to do while you’re comfortable at home.
Your ESRD Network wants to recognize at least one facility staff member each month who is going above and beyond for their patients. This month we want to celebrate DaVita Parsons Dialysis in Parsons, KS for the way they honor patients at their clinic!
When a patient from their clinic receives a transplant, staff recognizes them by putting a balloon and their picture in the lobby. This not only honors the person but also serves as a reminder and possible motivation for other patients to consider transplant. It keeps transplant top of mind and creates conversation among patients and staff. The patients often come back to share their experience with transplant.
Do you have a facility staff member you’d like to nominate for the facility shoutout? Email us the details of who, what, and where at Qsource-Peers@qsource.org.
